Now more than ever, we all want to support our local communities this Christmas
Here’s a guide for how to buy local for Christmas if you live in Twickenham or southwest London
Now more than ever your local community needs your support. We’ve all been told to support our local shops and businesses, so here’s one step closer to making that a reality. I’ve created a list and ask around different businesses and particularly artists who are selling beautiful products and services this Christmas. It’s a win-win situation. You get some beautiful gifts plus a nice glowing feeling inside knowing you’ve done something to help your local community.
Many of these people sell online on pages like Etsy so if you have friends outside of South West London, another way to support them is letting friends and family know about them – except, of course, if you’re buying your friends a gift from their page!!

Hey Andisheh – I’ve recently launched On The Rail, bringing a little bit of French fashion to Twickenham from the Captain Tortue label. I’m on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/353119409442190/members/) and Insta (https://www.instagram.com/ontherail_byhayley/) and would welcome anyone to have a little browse. We’re having to operate a little differently with lockdown and embracing virtual; I can set up an online pop up for anyone wanting to have a look with friends over a coffee/glass of wine, a 1:1 virtual viewing, and for those who are local I can drop of a couple of items to try for size and see the quality. There are some super accessories that make great gifting options! Happy shopping xx
Hi Hayley, thanks for letting me know. That sounds like fun! I’ll include it in the list!
